Lake Louis – Fairmont Chateau Lake Louis

We had magnificent views of the lake and its peripheral environment from our window. Worth coming all the way, truly.
Peer hard, or click photo to enlarge it, and you can see canoeists on the water. Surface slightly ruffled.

Lake was quiet in this shot; surface like a mirror.
Please, please click on the photos, especially the scenic shots, to bring up large images to fill your entire monitor, perhaps even bigger, to see the true beauty of Lake Louis.

Every morning, there is a guided walk with commentary along the lakeside.

The Chateau Lake Louis is an old hotel that's been upgraded, renovated, and redecorated.
It's a beautiful structure in a beautiful environment and all who visit will take away loads of photographs, like the more than 500 hundred at this site.

We didn't see Sonny the two days we were here.
Once, he was out walking some guests.

The next day, we were told it was his day off!
Wow! Wonder if he has a Staff Union card.

These two shots were taken during our walk along the lakeside. Unfortunately, the walk ends at the far end, and you have to walk back the way you came. It's not a complete walk around the lake like that around Dove Lake in Tasmania.

That's delta formation at the end of the lake.P1150420

And here's a shot our room at the Chateau Lake Louis.
Unfortunately, it seems that service can be not up to expectations, like in this case.
