Vancouver - the Toyota Prius city !!

P1160152

First thing that struck me was that there were more Toyota Priuses here than in any Japanese city that I've visited.
And the majority of them were taxis.
Note the clever black rubber matting on the rear bumper (above).

Why my interest?
Because mine's a Prius.

And here's why you should change to one.

And here are some Prius sites.

According to the driver of the first cab we took , from airport to hotel, 90% of the cabbies in Vancouver are Pakistanis like him.

These pics were taken along Robson Street. It's like Orchard Road back home in Singapore.

Except that it's two-way traffic, two lanes in each direction, yellow line centre divider, and kerbside metre parking which effectively results in single lane traffic each side.

This was the one we took to the airport for our flight home.

Thought it was empty 'cause couldn't see driver. He was on the left side, lah.
See how you can tell that a Japanese cab is available. Click here and scroll down.
